Thermodynamic simulation of Portland cement hydration with different water content

Hydration of Portland cement in normal conditions is a complex problem. A detailed description the hydration process includes clinker dissolution, diffusion processes, surface phenomena on nuclei new phases, quantitative composition solid matter and growth products, porous structure, humidity depending hardening time water/cement ratio. Thermodynamic modeling based Lothenbach model allows solving these problems to large extent. Using GEMS software, thermodynamic simulation detecting amount both initial products such as paste, ettringite, Portlandite, others for long period time. The paper presents results phase content during model, absence mineral additives calcite, lime, anhydrite, gypsum, hemihydrate, K 2 SO 4 . ratio 0.3, 0.4 0.5. It found that final dominant include CSH gel composition, portlandite, insoluble minerals well hydrogarnet, monosulfate, distributed space; ettringite absent. determined fraction space increases with increasing water even after 1250 days contribution clinkers 20–25 g among 150 hydrated cement.
